OUR TEAM

JAMES DUNN | Operations Manager

James joined the team in August of 2022 after working for 10 years as a qualified funeral director and, before that, 4 years as a groundsman, gravedigger, and crematorium operator.

He hopes to build on The Park’s sterling reputation by engaging with families, funeral directors, and community groups to provide the best and most welcoming cemetery experience in Auckland.

Raised on the Hibiscus Coast and now living here with his own family, he is committed to helping his community.

“I spent my early years at the old Silverdale Primary School and then at Orewa College, so I’ve gone a long way in life… about 2 minutes up the road.”

PIP SMITH | Administration Manager

Pip has been with the Park for six years and is currently working alongside James in the management team.  After originally training as a nurse, Pip has worked in the UK and NZ in various roles over the years.  She and husband, Gary, have lived in Qatar, Bahrain and Perth before returning home to Red Beach for their two sons to attend college and now Auckland University.

“I believe our Cemetery is not just a place of memorialisation but an integral part of the community.  I actively engage with fundraising for Harbour Hospice and we regularly hold Pink Ribbon Breakfasts and Prostate Cancer Blue Do’s to foster a sense of community and connection within the Park grounds.”

TINA DEMPSEY | Office Administrator

Tina is the longest serving staff member at the Park, having joined the team in 2005, as such she has a broad knowledge of much of the Park’s history. She and her husband, Vic, moved to the Hibiscus Coast in 1986 where they raised their children and shared many exciting interests, having both been pilots and operated their own skydiving business. Tina also has a background in science, with a BSc from Auckland University and subsequent employment with the DSIR.
She has seen the Park develop into a mature and caring cemetery, a jewel of the community.

“I try to give our customers quality time, care and empathy, for those that need us now or are preparing for the future.”

JOHN DING | Relationship Director

John has been with the park since 2015 and as relationship director, he is dedicated to establishing a long-lasting relationship with families and ensuring that the cemetery meets their needs. John is passionate about providing exceptional services to people during their difficult times by listening to their needs and addressing their concerns.

“It is my deep understanding of the various cultural and religious practices surrounding death and burial that allows me to assist families from diverse backgrounds, ensuring that their customs and traditions are honored and respected.”
