Planning ahead for your final resting place
Why Plan Ahead?

Peace of mind for you and your family
Making these decisions now means your family won't have to guess what you wanted or make difficult choices while grieving. You'll know everything is arranged, and they'll be grateful you took care of it.
Time to make the right choice
Without the pressure of immediate need, you can explore different options, and make decisions that truly feel right for you - from your final resting place to the type of service you'd like.
Financial certainty
When you pre-plan and pre-pay, you lock in today's prices and can arrange plans that work for your budget. This protects your family from future cost increases and unexpected expenses.
Your wishes, your way
Every detail can reflect your preferences and values - whether that's a traditional service, something more personal and contemporary, burial or cremation, or the location and style of your memorial.

A cemetery designed as a peaceful memorial park
Auckland Memorial Park in Silverdale has been thoughtfully designed as more than simply a cemetery.
The memorial park features amphitheatre-style landscaping overlooking a peaceful lake, landscaped gardens, wide open lawns, and walking paths that encourage reflection and remembrance in a calm natural setting.
Many families tell us they appreciate having a memorial space that feels welcoming, peaceful, and easy to return to over time.
The grounds are open daily from sunrise to sunset, 365 days a year.
Visitors are welcome to walk through the memorial park, explore the gardens and memorial areas, or simply spend quiet time enjoying the surroundings. Dogs are welcome on leashes provided owners remain respectful around graves and memorial spaces.

Choosing the Right Funeral Director and Cemetery
This is an important decision, and it's worth taking time to find the right fit. Look for a funeral director and cemetery team who listen to you, answer your questions clearly, and make you feel comfortable - not rushed.
Consider the cemetery grounds themselves: do they feel peaceful and well-maintained? Are they conveniently located for family visits? Ask about the range of options available, from traditional to contemporary, and whether they can accommodate cultural or religious preferences.
It's also helpful to understand what's included in costs and whether payment plans are available. Trust your instincts - you should feel supported and confident in the care you and your family will receive.
